5702 main St 1955 A picture of 5702 Main St taken in 1956. This home was part of the Miller Homestead where Ruth and John Byrne lived with their children Francis Lawrence and Gracia Ostrander. There were many bedrooms in the house and was used as a tourist home, better known today as a bed and breakfast. click here to see a bigger picture.

5710 Main St 1900 A picture of 5710 Main St taken in 1900. This home was the original Miller Homestead where Benjamin and Susannha Fulmer Miller first lived with their children. Story has it that when Buffalo was burned by the British in 1810, the family uprooted from this home and fled to Batavia and returned a few days later to find everthing still as the left it, including the bread still on the hearth. click here to see a bigger picture.
5712 Main St 1956 A picture of 5712 Main St taken in 1956. This Texaco station was on the NW corner of Main and Ellicott, it is the current site of Fleet Bank. If you look to the right you can see the Miller homestead after the four chimney system was abandoned. click here to see a bigger picture.

5728 Main St 1956 A picture of 5728 Main St taken in 1956. Fritz Barndollars Sunoco station was one of many gas stations torn down in the 70's. It made room for what was the Prechtel Optical building, now home to Cutting Edge Realtors and The Framed Brow. click here to see a bigger picture.
5735 Main St 1956 A picture of 5735 Main St taken in 1956. Bihr's Food Shop closed back in the 70's and moved to Orchard Park where the family still runs the business. Today the building still stands and is home to The Village Vacuum Centre, Scanlons Jewelers and The Golden Parachute. click here to see a bigger picture.

5747 Main St 1970 A picture of 5747 Main St taken in 1970. Carmer Auto Parts was run by Marion Carmer until 1968. The store was reopened after Marion's death by the Orlando family in 1969, and remained open until 1992. Today it is home of Vern Stein Fine Art. click here to see a bigger picture.

5757 Main St 1959 A picture of 5757 Main St taken in 1959. Senior, Bissell and Bronkie engineers and Land Surveyors occupied this building for many years. Pictured is the entire staff including Harold Senior, Doug Bissell, Robert Bronkie, Norm Wolf, Fritz Barndollar, John Drake, Cy Fields and Phil Boudreau. 5759 Main St 1960 A picture of 5759 Main St taken in 1960. This building is still standing on the SW corner of Main and Garrison and is currently the home of precision Bicycles. Barney Miller originally built this building when he needed room to expand his Hardware store. Ed Young bought the business from Barney in 1965 and moved to their current location 1n 1972. 5770 Main St 1956.jpg 5770 Main St was torn down in the 60's to allow the state to connect Garrison Rd with Evans St. Before the state came in, heading north on Garrison, you had to turn left on Main and a quick right on Evans to continue north. click here to see a bigger picture
