Re:  water heaters

You may have noticed and been confused by what you need/want in a new water heater.

To end some of the confusion we suggest comparing features, not necessarily Brand Names. Each Manufacturer has Good, Better & Best, so a good way to base your decision is to look at your current water heater……..

Does it have…….(1) high recovery? (2) what’s the gallon capacity? (3) Self-cleaning?
                           (4) Tank leakage & parts warranty? (5) Tall or short model?

(1)    RECOVERY is nothing more than the rate water will be heated in 1 hour. Look for rec. (ie 33 rec) on your water heater label rating plate or BTU input (ie. 35,000 btu) 33 gal recovery is considered a low recovery rate.

(2)    GALLON CAPACITY  water heaters come in various sizes – most often it  will be   either a  30, 40, 50 or 75 gallon.

(3)    SELF_CLEANING is a special feature that keeps the water in your heater moving, to   aid/eliminate sediment build up.....no more having to drain water from your heater ever 6 months or so.

(4)  WARRANTY   we carry  6 yr., 8 yr. & 12 yr. Tank leakage warranties, 2 yr., 6 yr. & 12 yr on parts, Ed Young’s Plumbing has a (1) year labor guarantee on ALL new installations.

(5)  SIZE   heaters come  mostly in  “TALL”  or   “SHORT”  tall being in the 5 foot range & short being in the 4 foot  range.

(6) BRAND   Ed Youngs Plumbing Installs AO-Smith and Reliance Heaters.

*WHEN CONTACTING  ED YOUNG’S PLUMBING  FOR YOUR WATER HEATER NEEDS TRY TO HAVE THE TANK GALLON SIZE, HEIGHT &RECOVERY RATE OF YOUR OLD HEATER SO WE CAN COMPARE OUR NEW UNITS FEATURE FOR FEATURE – THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU CAN SUPPLY US WITH.

Note:  some specialty water heaters may have a blower motor on the flue pipe,
this is known as a POWER-VENTED UNIT.
